Decomposition of uniform resource allocation problems

Yu. B. Maksimov

Khar'kov
Abstract: The properties of the solution to the problem of uniform resource allocation between independent processes are considered; the solution is obtained by consistent application of the minimax criterion. The relation of the consistent minimax criterion with other optimal allocation criteria is established. The properties of minimax solutions are employed in computing techniques of decomposing the original problem into a sequence of subproblems of significantly lower dimension.
