Developing Systems

Designing the logical database structure for a data processing system

I. V. Krutovskikh, S. D. Proshkin, S. S. Serov

Moscow
Abstract: A method is proposed for developing a combined logical structure for a database where the data is arranged in both the relational and hierarchical ways. The combined structure makes it possible to use inverse search (in the relational part) in order to accelerate responding to queries and reduces the database size by representing some of the data in the hierarchical form.
