Digital approximation of stabilizing feedback in distributed systems

Abstract:
In approximating the integrals which implement a state stabilizing feedback in distributed systems as digital sums the dynamics stays correct and the asymptotic stability is preserved in a closed loop system. If the original feedback is optimal by some quadratic criterion, the approximating control is found to be suboptimal.
