Schedules with priorities for online resource management problems in aggregated data access systems

Abstract: We study the resource management problem in an aggregated data access system on the example of a cloud storage designed to manage data from medium and small scientific experiments in astroparticle physics. Based on the approaches of queuing and scheduling theory, a mathematical model of the processes under consideration is formulated and studied. Simulation modeling has been performed to find a heuristic that minimizes the sum of the schedule criteria. It is shown that the application of this computational discipline consistently shows better results in comparison with the “naive” approaches with respect to a number of considered parameters.
Keywords: online scheduling, data management, resource management, grid computing, data lake, open research, computer schedule, modeling.
