Abstract:
In this study, a stochastic method for generation of artificial three-dimensional, divergence-free, homogeneous and isotropic velocity fields is examined. The technique is based on the Randomized Spectral Method. The turbulent fields constructed by this generator are analyzed in the view of statistical and spectral properties. A LES-based computation which imposes the obtained turbulent fields as initial conditions is used for validation and exhibits a good agreement with the experimental data.
